The RWE npower Games 2010
This event is open to all RWE npower employees and a great opportunity for people of all fitness levels or skill to take part in a wide of range of sporting activities!
Supporting our commitment to wellbeing, there are individual and team activities to enjoy and bring people from across the business together as we work to become ‘one company’.
The Games will take place on Friday 3rd – Sunday 5th September at The University of Nottingham.
Background
For three years (2004 – 2006), RWE npower employees participated in an externally organised games event – The Corporate Games. On each occasion the number of employees increased to a final year entry of over 700 entrants, the largest representation of any company.
However, the organisation and location of the event meant that many employees couldn’t participate, so it was decided to run an RWE npower event in 2007.
The npower Games in 2007 and 2008 were very popular, with around 1000 employees taking part each time. Our people valued the opportunity to come together for a weekend of sporting activities.
The 2010 RWE npower Games offer a great opportunity to share experiences across our different business areas, as we work in our new organisational structure as one company.
The Games form an important part of our Wellbeing programme. Without doubt, fitness increases our overall energy levels and this helps us to be more dynamic and achieve our full potential, both individually and as a business.
Registration
This year all sporting registrations will be made via the npower Intranet. Registration will be open from Monday 28th June to Wednesday 7th July.
Only team captains can register their teams, as individual team members are not able to register themselves this year. Solo runners and team captains should log on to the Intranet and click on the front page link to The Games. We have streamlined the form as much as possible to facilitate easier registration.
